From birth...to You

Miniature/Medium Labradoodles Born and Growing Up at Mini Doodles

Miniature Chocoalte Labradoodle Puppies

So after we have decided on the match and nature takes its course the honeymoon period begins

After lots of swooning and doggie dating the honeymoon takes place...

...Then 61 to 63 days later puppies will arrive

THE PREGNANCY

Extra love, time, affection and pampering is need during the pregnancy, as her pregnancy develops her meals are smaller and more frequent, as sometimes appetites vary.

In later pregnancy we like to have only a calming influence on her as she prepares for birth.  She has her birthing area arranged so she can accommodate herself with her new bed area, its a cosy den to rear her puppies in.

Once the birth starts we are there until the last puppy arrives constantly reassuring her and giving her lots of love.

THE BIG ANNOUNCEMENT - THEY'VE ARRIVED!

At this stage you will be invited to join our puppy blog keeping to informed & updated on the litters progress & development

The puppies are born with their eyes and their ears closed, so they can not see and they can not hear.  But they can smell at this stage , there little noses can already smell their siblings and their mother, the puppies snuggle up close to mum for warmth and comfort.

Each puppy is handled throughout the day, picked up, held and stroked (its so hard not to!).  Even though they can not hear or see, this is an important part of their early socialization .

TWO WEEKS OLD

Puppies get their first worming - & then fortnightly there after

The puppies eyes & ears begin to slowly open.  Stimulation is at this point provided with a therapy CD, while visual development is watching the hustle and bustle in our busy family home.  We encourage them to take an active interest in what is going on around them.

FOUR WEEKS OLD

At this time the puppies are growing to to little individuals and the puppy blog is well under way with photos and updates of our puppies progress. Our puppy's families excitement is running high by now and it is totally contagious! We are all looking forward to next week when our puppy families come and visit.

At 4 weeks the puppies have their first semi-solid meal, but they  will continue to drink from their mother as well for the next three to four weeks.

Playing with toys provides psychological benefits as well as helping them with their teething.

FIVE WEEKS OLD

Character traits are now apparent, we ask ourselves questions like.. Are there special needs? Was there are request for a certain colour or coat type? Are there children in the family?

What a special time this is we get to share in your excitement ...You come and Visit us

Characters have formed and we welcome you in to our home to meet the puppies and parents...and most importantly we help you choose the right puppy for your family.

SIX WEEKS OLD

Toilet training and crate training is well underway.

Their first introduction to the big outside world takes place in the doodle garden for a period each day accompanied by their mum who takes it all in her stride and instils confidence in the babies.

We prepare them to travel to their new homes by taking them our in the car, they love it, its such an adventure!

EIGHT WEEKS OLD

The time has come for our cherished puppies to leave home and go their new families. It is time for you to collect your new puppy and join your family.  Puppies must be collected on the collection weekend to keep change to a minimum for the puppies.

Introducing you new puppy to its new home

Our Labradoodles are friendly dogs who can get along with practically anyone or anything.  But common sense should be used when introducing a new puppy to other pets in the home, such as rabbits or adult cats.
